If i were more persuaded that the book of Revelation holds out a step-by-step guide to the apocalypse it would be difficult to ignore the craziness around at the moment; environmental, social financial, political, religious. Good job God's into redemption.
I would be interested to see how someone would argue that Revelation speaks about Facebook.
I personally know a number of people that will be throwing these things into their end of the world prediction device and I am pretty sure they will tell me why the end is nigh. I will probably smile at them politely and hope they go away.
I once had someone tell me that Prince William was going to be the anti-christ.
Yeah, i've heard that. I understand it to be based on some extreme caution over the EU (partly due to the 5 pointed stars on the flag) and this meaning that the anti-Christ will rise from Germany. Our royal family are German, thus it's them, and it's this generation. Hence William is your man.
What!!?? Wake me when it's over.
I've just been to look at what you're doing, Phoce. It's good stuff, and it links with this post here. There's a question about the root hope of our theology; do we work and centre ourselves around a time when we can finally write all this 'Planet Earth' nonsense off, or do we invest our energies into it's redemption. (i tried to find a non-religious word there, but none were rich enough).
A big clue, to my mind, is in our words for salvation and healing having the same greek word: soteria.
